Podebrady is a beautiful historical spa town in the Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic, in 50 km on the east from Prague. Surrounded by meadows, woods and a natural park, the town is ideal for the health.

Podebrady are well-known for the mineral sources. In 1905 was signs of a strong spring, which was later bored to a depth of 97.6 metres. The discovery of carbonic mineral water resulted in the opening of the first spa in 1908.

Podebrady offers its services mainly to patients with illnesses of the circulatory system and diabetes but they also provide healthy people with relaxation, reconditioning and recreational stays completed with preventive diagnostic tests, refreshing water treatments and similar pleasures.
The chemical composition of Podebrady water are bicarbonate, chloride, and sodium calcium.

Podebrady is much less commercial than other spa towns in the Czech Republic and therefore a better representation of Central European spa culture.
