The Heviz lake with its 47,500 square metres is one of the best-known spa resorts in Europe. The forested parks, clean air and the town’s protected flora extending around the lake are a token of the peaceful relaxation and healing.

The lake is fed by a thermal spring that was born in a very early geological stage. The spring supplies about 20,000 litres of water every minute so the water of the lake is renewed within every 72 hours. The temperature of the medicinal water is 33-35°C during the summer and doesn't go under 26°C even during the cold winter days. The mud covering the bottom of the lake is especially curative it occupies an intermediate position between the pure inorganic mud and the fango, which has a high organic matter content. The mixture of the mud and the thermal water is an ideal substance of mudpack.
