
Hammamat Ma’in (Ma’in Hot Springs), located near the Dead Sea, has a myriad of hot and cold underground springs, rich in healing minerals. Location at a depth of 264 meters below the level of the world's oceans allows Hammamat Ma’in temperature remain at 10 degrees above the temperature of the rest territory of the country.
Thousands of visiting bathers come each year to enjoy the mineral rich waters of these hyper-thermal waterfalls. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is heated to temperatures up to 63 degrees Celsius by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into the Zarqa River.
